Weigh In

Down .2 lbs today. Not exactly what I was hoping for this week but at least it's in the right direction. Did not want to go to the gym after work because I'm still sore from Monday, work sucked and I'm tired, but I powered through and did my workout. Glad it's out of the way.

Food was rough today - went out for lunch with some coworkers and got a half a caprese sandwich and a small salad, then I went back and logged on to count my points and realized it was a 17 point lunch. Um yah.

I've done this about a million times over the years and could tell you the points of pretty much half of the food on the planet without even thinking twice, yet I can't figure out that I probably shouldn't eat so much for lunch. I guess it's called denial.

Also had some interesting conversations about body image with my coworkers and we pretty much came to the consensus that almost every woman we know (in her late 20's, early 30's at least) would like to be one to two dress/pant sizes smaller.

How sad is that? And we work in Boulder, CO, one of the fittest cities in the entire nation. I mean everywhere I look I only see beautiful people. Still, nobody is happy. Sucks.

For me, I'm just trying to remain positive while doing something to improve my health/lose weight/become all around fitter. Some days the positive thing is really effing hard, but I guess all I can do is try. And not let the stupid scale get me down.

Hey, I am glad to see you back. And I am glad to hear you are tackling things head on. I struggled all through last year, and still struggle with body image. And now I am only going to get bigger for the next 8 months! I agree though, almost everyone I know wants to be smaller, fitter, healthier, however you want to say it.
I think though, admitting you want to change and having the drive to do so is the biggest challenge. Best of luck on your downward change!

down is down. way to go on having a loss. work lunches are the worst, aren't they? I've had that happen tons myself. sucks. having said that though - just think - if you weren't watching - you'd have had twice that many points probably - so still, a job well done!

i'm sore too, haven't done a good weight routine since december and boy am i ever paying for it today... ouchie ouchie! :-o

for me, the closer i get to goal - the more i seem to focus on how i'm feeling, over what size i'm wearing... i often wonder if losing 5 more pounds is going to make that much of a difference (10 maybe)...

.2 is still a loss in my book! :o)

Yeah, the amount of cheese in a caprese is soooo tasty, but it adds up. When you consider that a single oz. serving of cheese (I estimate ~90 cal, usually; 80-120 is more precise) is about the size of one die (as in, singular version of dice), the cheese included on many things can skyrocket the calories easily.

Hey jeni! I've been MIA for a long time; I've been trying to get inspired to get back to things after a very long time off track and have spent the night reading up on everyone in Fatblogland. I'm so glad to see how good you're doing! I've missed reading your blog and hopefully it will inspire me to get back into things too.
Keep all the good work going! You're totally my inspiration!
